RED KITE
Red Kite – Montreal by Red Kite_Band
Red Kite (milvus milvus) fronted by Reading’s Dan Fisher (ex-The Cooper Temple Clause) are a new group from the northern-most tip of London who make music with an intense, widescreen grandeur that’s as equally euphoric as it is melancholic. Sightings of them across the capital and further afield are expected to increase steadily throughout 2011.
Tripwires – Cinnamon by Tripwires
Reading shoegaze rock 4 pieces Tripwires sound is distinguishable by big, reverb-laden, distorted guitar and big melody; reminiscent of Shoegaze, Grunge and early 90′s guitar pop.
The band have received support airplay from Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq (BBC Radio 1), and from Tom Robinson (BBC Radio 6 Music). In August 2008, Tripwires performed at the Reading and Leeds festivals. In the summer of 2010 Tripwires began recording their debut album which is due to be released spring 2011 on London independent label Club AC30. On the 12th November 2010 Clash (magazine) chose confirmed album track ‘cinnamon’ as their track of the day, offering an exclusive free download.
Four piece Indie band Peers have had plays on NME Radio, Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, Radio 1′s Huw Stephens and played on the BBC Introducing stage at Reading and Leeds Festivals.
